The Evolution of an Icon

The Evolution of an Icon

Sep 23, 2025Eric Fischer

Our founder, Hunter Joslin, first envisioned the Indo Board in the 60’s and built the original prototype in 1975. Born from an undying passion for surfing, skateboarding, and the desire to push his skills further, he spent countless hours in the garage on his new creation. While it was evident in Hunter’s surfing that the balance training paid off, the ocean kept calling and it took a minute for his design to see the light of day. Fast forward to 1998, when the first Indo Board rolled off the production line - and the rest is history.

That same vision continues to drive everything we build today. It’s not just a new look, it’s an ongoing commitment to pushing performance further.

As we continue to evolve our product collection, The Original model is now 15% lighter while increasing tensile strength throughout the entirety of the board. This comes as a result of premium materials and refined manufacturing techniques. The same shape that Hunter launched the brand with 27 years ago, you can find the latest version that continues to raise the bar HERE.

What’s next? We’ll continue to embrace change, grow the Indo Board line-up and couldn’t be more excited about what’s in store for the future. New models and fresh innovation are on the horizon – but just as important, we’ll keep building the community that’s kept us moving for nearly three decades.

Balance is still everything.
