Can using the Indo Board help me prevent injuries?
Gretchen D. Oliver and Ro Di Brezzo of the University of Arkansas conducted a clinical study in which the Indo Board was used exclusively to examine the effects of functional balance training on athletes that were on the NCAA Division I collegiate women’s volleyball team. The study concluded that the Indo Board intervention season did show minimal injuries. The previous two years (nonintervention seasons) reported significant injuries of 3 meniscal tears, patellar tendon arthroscopy, an ankle sprain, and a foot sprain. During the season using the Indo Board intervention there was a marked decrease in injury. Thus, one could allude to the fact that core and joint strength improved based on the Indo Board intervention.
